Getting back into a routine after a bunch of holidays and a surgery is so fun!
(Narrator voice: It was not fun at all.)
I do like to share reading lists - articles, posts from fellow bloggers, poems, and books. I unfortunately got out of the habit. Let's fix that.
- The Closet Feminist: Best Of Self Help
- The Life On Purpose Movement: The Ridiculously Simple Decluttering Tip Too Many People Are Missing
Create an official place for donation items (or items that otherwise need re-homed), and make sure every member of your household knows where it is. It’s amazing how this easy tactic can make editing your belongings a regular part of your family’s routine.
*glances at my bursting donation bag* Now to actually drop all this crap off.
“End it right now, walk away, this is toxic” etc., etc.
And truth be told, yes, I was emotionally getting drained, it was showing physically in my body, and I had moved far away from my center. Certainly proving it was every bit toxic.
- WITCH Magazine: When The Shadow Season Stretches Into The New Year
“End it right now, walk away, this is toxic” etc., etc.
And truth be told, yes, I was emotionally getting drained, it was showing physically in my body, and I had moved far away from my center. Certainly proving it was every bit toxic.
But, and yet, still, I held on. I was aware of my weakness that led me to stay on.
And it is important to identify this- the weaknesses that make us stay stuck in old, damaging patterns.
But there was also something else.
- The Spooky Vegan: My Top 10 Horror Movies of 2018
- Wardrobe Oxygen: Honing Your Personal Style As You Age
Books I'm reading this month:
- Neverwhere - Neil Gaiman
- Goddesses In Older Women - Jean Shinoda Bolen
On the list for 2019:
- Good Omens - Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett (I simply must re-read this. It's been a while.)
- Year Of Yes - Shonda Rimes
- The Book of the Cailleach: Stories of the Wise Woman Healer - Gearóid Ó Crualaoich
- Meeting Faith: The Forest Journals of a Black Buddhist Nun - Faith Adiele (another re-read. This was one of my favorites from my college days.)
And I'm sure this list will grow considerably.
What are you reading today?
I love Wardrobe Oxygen - she's great. I'm currently reading one of the Harry Dresden novels by Jim Butcher - they were recommended to me by one of my coworkers, and there are so many of them, I've just been picking them up at the thrift stores. I like his colloquial writing - it's funny. I haven't read Good Omens for a while...there are a LOT of books I haven't read for a while! Too many books! Too little time!
ReplyDeleteVery much too many books, too little time. I think I've been reading Wardrobe Oxygen almost as long as I've been reading Shakesville. This week, I actually stumbled upon the time Allison featured you in 2013! So I've definitely seen you around before. It just didn't stick that time. Glad it stuck this time. You're good peeps.
